XP Share - The Podcast for Every Gamer

When you start to venture into the world of gaming... Where do you even start?

This was a question I often asked myself on many different occasions.

I didn’t start really getting into games until I finished high school, and I didn’t really know where to start.

I was inundated with heaps of recommendations from friends and co-workers - it felt pretty overwhelming.

This lack of experience I had is actually what pushed me to start content creating in the first place - what if someone out there was feeling as overwhelmed as I am, and wanted to hear about games from someone who was also in the same boat.

Then came my first YouTube video - published back in 2019. *cringe*

For someone who wasn’t comfortable being in front of the camera yet and wanted to work on their confidence, I’m pretty proud of this video!

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt online while I’ve been in the gaming community - whether it’s through online forums or in open voice chats - is that there’s still a stigma surrounding what it means to be a ‘real gamer’… whatever that means.

I truly, honestly believe there’s a game out there for everyone - it doesn’t matter what genre you’re into, how skilled you are, or how long you’ve been a fan of something.

Games are for everyone.

Fast forward to now, I’ve been wanting to get back to the my roots - why I started content creating, and why I published my first video.

Introducing - XP Share.

XP Share is created for everyone in the gaming community - a podcast created to welcome gamers of any experience and skill to find their new video game obsession.

Every episode features a different creator chatting with me about one of their favourite games.

But this isn’t your typical video game discussion.

We get down to the basics of the game, discussing the genre, chatting about any mechanics and features we can expect to experience not just as a first time player, but also as a first time gamer.

I’m here to ask what some people might see as ‘silly questions’ - breaking down the barriers to maybe ask something that someone else out there might be too shy to ask.

XP Share doesn’t care too much for a game’s review scores, but instead asks different questions - is this game approachable for new gamers? How much time do you need to commit to the game to fully enjoy it?

The gaming scene is vast and constantly evolving - how can anyone be expected to know everything about every game?

In this podcast, my inexperience is my biggest strength in helping create an open and easy-going space for listeners.

The response to XP Share online has been incredibly heart-warming, and I hope you’re just as excited as I am!

If you’re a creator who would love to be on the show, please put your submission here. I’m a one-woman show, so please give me some time to get back to you (there have been so many amazing people I’m starting to schedule for our future episodes!).

If you’d like to see a creator and/or game featured on the show, comment below and let me know!
